For many people, their first and most important experience with a catering service involves a wedding. At Court Yard Catering & Specialties, we understand that you are looking for more than great food. Weddings can be both joyous and overwhelming experiences, filled with detail, stress, expense, and last-minute confusion.

At Court Yard Catering, our goal is to bring you a trouble-free and memorable wedding catering experience. Beautiful presentations, personal service beyond belief, and homemade, “made from scratch” foods are the hallmarks of our service.

Wedding services provided with all menus include:

• Free Bridal Consultation at your home, at your convenience.
• We provide bridal table, buffet table, register table, and side tables.
• Bridal table, register table, and side tables covered and skirted with white polyknit skirts and set with china, silverware, and served home-style.
• Cake, Gift, Buffet, Cookie, and Register Tables are covered and skirted to match the bridal table and accented with baby’s breath greenery.
• Highest quality disposable plates for your guests. Plastic ware, cups, and napkins are furnished along with anything you need to consume the foods you have ordered. Classic ware service or china-silver and glassware service is also avaliable.
• Court Yard Catering professionally cuts your wedding cake. We wrap or serve using your imprinted napkins or plate your cake to be served for dessert. These services are provided whether we have created your cake or someone else has.
• We are always professionally dressed in black and whites & bow-ties.
• Remaining foods are stored in our disposable foil-lidded containers for your take-home convenience.
• Continuous, artistic cookie-tray displays are maintained for your guests to enjoy. Your family cookies are always welcome with Court Yard Catering; however, fresh-baked cookies are also available from our bakery.
• A hostess will excuse your guests to the buffet table to ensure proper traffic flow.
• Day before event set-up along with you, your family, and friends.

We accept Visa, MasterCard, and personal checks. We also have a payment plan:

• 10% on signing of your catering contract (this holds your reservation and secures pricing).
• 40% is due along with the final count of attendees, 10 days before event.
• The remaining 50% is due on day of setup, by cash, money order, or certified check. No personal checks are accepted on final payment!
• 6% Sales Tax applies to all services.
• Service Charge may apply to services.

What to Expect from Your
Wedding Catering Experience

At Court Yard Catering & Specialties, we are usually approached by the bride or the bride’s mother. On average, they book their catering a year in advance, and sometimes earlier. Of course, emergencies happen. We have done wedding catering in as little as two week’s time, sometimes because mom & family had planned to make the food themselves, but it came down to the wire and they couldn’t finish.

When you call, we will take down your personal information: wedding date, address, what reception hall area you have selected, the approximate number of guests, and your phone number.

At that time, we will send out our initial packets of information, with prices based on what we know at the time. Since you don’t always know the right questions to ask during your first call, we encourage you to call with any questions, especially after you have had a chance to review the information we send.

The next step is to set up a bridal consultation in your home. At that time, it is best if you make sure all the important parties are there, those who will make the buying decisions and are in charge of the budget. (Sometimes you know what you want, and have already put a great deal of thought into your wedding catering. Just tell us, and we will forward a contract based on your plans.)

Your catering contract can be signed at the consultation, but does not need to be. When you are ready, it is time to sign your contract and make the initial deposit for services.

10 days before the event, it is time for us to call you and get the final count of guests and to go over any last minute preparations.

At that time, we go over the entire contract verbally on phone. Based on the final count, we recalculate the costs and call back to inform you of the 40% monies due now, as well as what the 50% remaining balance will be (due  on the day of setup for the event.)

We always go with the family to the location of the reception the day before the event set up, to make sure the event itself goes as smoothly as possible.

Services provided with wedding menus automatically included: free bridal consultation at your home at your convenience, bridal table, buffet table, cookies table, register table, all skirted and covered to match. Bridal table is always set with china, silverware, and served home-style (so you don’t have to go to the buffet).

Options: You can choose from the highest quality disposable plates to classic ware, or use china and silverware for your guests. Our Chocolate Fountain can make your event even more memorable. We can supply as many tables, chairs, and linens as needed. We can even bring tents for your outdoor event.

• We professionally cut wedding cakes, whether we make them or not, at no additional charge.
• At Court Yard Catering and Specialties, we bake some of the finest cookies in the tri-state area. However, we recognize that families in Southwestern Pennsylvania often pride themselves in supplying their own family recipe, home-made cookies at weddings. We respect that, and we will be delighted to provide the same artistic, continuous cookie tray service using your cookies as we would if serving our own.
• All left-over foods are storied in disposable containers for you and your guests to take home.
• A hostess will excuse your guests to the buffet table to ensure proper traffic flow.
• We are always professionally dressed in black and whites & bow-ties.

Court Yard Catering is pleased to serve the fine families in Westmoreland and Fayette Counties, as well as the Pittsburgh area. As needed, we can provide services in the tri-state area. Almost any town between Uniontown and Greensburg, PA is our home territory, including Mount Pleasant, Murrysville, Scottdale, Youngwood, New Stanton, and Connellsville. There is no limit to the amount of travel that we do. Even to Ohio.
